MIRROR MAN
Every time I see your face
every time it seems more out of place
now I can't even recall what it really looks like
because, the last time I saw you
and I don't want to annoy you
there was too much fuzz about the face that was...
you?
At times there's just you
when you'll have to reinvent yourself
just like a book on a shelf
sometimes needs some dusting off
with a cleansing cloth...
dust it off till it's had enough
sometimes it's time to readjust yourself
Every now and then
every now and then I'll say it again...
every now and then you have to reinvent yourself
look at me I tell you, you got to
readjust the you in your self
When the mirror cracks just look straight back
just set your face against this anxiety
read another book, readjust your look
there's plenty of self on the shelf in front of you, of me
when the mirror lies in front of you
when the mirror lies in front of me
take another look, just take another book
why don't you
and when you, and then you, and again you
can be you
now, can't you see...
you, I… can be me

November night

NOVEMBER NIGHT
A terrible November night
with a drizzling rain
that sweeps even the bravest off the streets
and my favourite bar lies, alas
and that's for certain
too far headed West
to battle with that cold wet curtain
For the first time since many years
as the years flee by
I will return home
HOME
where my untimely appearance
will be considered as
the first step on the road that leads toward penitence
all beginnings are hard, and better late than never
my wife will say
But first I'll have to buy a newspaper for tonight near the fire
because when I don't read
my silence is chilling
my silence is killing for my housemates
as I understand very well
that nothing
NOTHING
is so depressing as
the presence of someone who sits silently staring
as if he's totally alone
one lonely bloke
who never tells a joke
who never pats you on the back
to give you some courage during your tough days
who never asks: how are you doing
or: are you happy
